I haven't been around in awhile and I have missed this, but I have always kept my eyes open and thought about so much to write about. First of all I have come across so many women who's look, style, hair, and attitude is on fleet. The ones that are new to the game as well as the ones who are highly seasoned kudos to you, I smile and complement you on your styles. I know taking time to put your best self forward is hard sometimes because life does get in the way, so many of us are juggling so many titles and responsibilities but if you don't take time to make it about you, then I promise no body else will.
On that note, I though I would touch on some of the great things I have come across. First, I have come across an affordable make up line that has good stuff. NYX cosmetics has got me for affordability. MAC is still the queen of makeup(working on a blog about their products, soon) but if you are looking for something a little more within your budget for experimenting then NYX is good. I have a few darker, matte finishes so of course I will switching those out for more spring/summer looks(dark colors are sometimes to harsh for summer looks, unless it is for a night out).
The next thing is hair, and oh there is so much to this(natural, crotch, braids, cuts, color....)to much to name but so many options(not even going to get into the whole Kim Kardashian "invention" of the box braid nonsense, my momma was putting those things in my head on Sunday nights for school on Monday but anyway!). Ladies the game has been elevated so no excuses for a beautiful mane. My new thing is this John Frieda Brilliant Brunette lightning treatment. I wanted to try something new so I gave this a try and it is subtle but the more you use it the lighter your tresses become over time. I am not a drastic change kind of girl, but hey I am getting there....baby steps for me.
The last thing I want to speak on is the not so great nail game, now I heard Tamar Braxton speak on this(got to catch The Real one day). Women with these nails that have all this "STUFF" on their nais....rind-stone, glitter, studs, bows, hoops. Ladies it is to much, what ever happened to pretty painted nails that were lengths that you can actually work with(yes, I am throwing shade to the talon, claws, and coffin shaped nails). That's just not right, can we please get back to the days of beautiful polished manicures without the extras(I would be scared to wipe myself with some of the stuff I have seen). Just my opinion.....until the next time ladies.
