Time for a Change

Have you ever looked back at photos of yourself and found that you look the same in all the photos. Now when I say the same I don't mean you look as if you have not aged(that would be a good thing) I mean your style or look has not changed. Same hairstyle/color, same makeup, same clothing style(this is probably not good based on the years you are looking back through the photos). Do you still look the same from 10, 7, 5 years ago. Has your style taken a hiatus from fashion/beauty. Now I ask because style in clothing, cosmetic, and shoes come and go but, if you some how have articles of clothing that are considered originals something is not right, this includes makeup that is discontinued but some how you still have original colors from when they first came out(a few years ago).
Clothing and makeup should be fun and experimental. They should enhance your feminine side, not continue to be used/ worn because they are easy, comfortable, and low maintenance. We are women and nothing about us is low maintenance. Now, this topic does not apply to the fabulous pieces of clothing that are vintage(worthy of keeping around because no matter how style changes they will always look fabulous,ie. leather jackets, old jeans, black pumps, the perfect black skirt/dress that hugs your butt, you get the idea).
I suggest that if this is your current situation it's time to branch out and up your wardrobe. I know we can't just go out and buy a new wardrobe even though many of us would love to experience that. I suggest purchase pieces to go with something you already have. We all have a great pair of jeans, or a perfect fitting pair of black pants. Take these key pieces and find shoes and blouses to go with them. This time of year is perfect to make purchases because many stores have great clearance sales. It is the best way to change up your look in an affordable way. When it comes to make up just jump in and purchase new colors, if you don't like them keep your receipt and return them(yes, many stores will take back open make up with your receipt, I have done it myself because I am a sucker for new mascaras). The moral of this blog is to take a look into the past and see if your present still mirrors your that style if the answer is yes I suggest you start stepping up your game and put a new style in place. Please do not rely on magazines to find it, keep it realistic and appropriate for you. The Guess models might be able to pull off that white crochet dress in the ad but where are you going to do with it?
